WordPress wins Best Open Source CMS Award 2009

There is lot much to cheer about WordPress because because our best script provider has finished first in the Overall ranking of the Best Open Source CMS award for the calender year 2009.

Open Source Content Management System award famously know as Open Source CMS Award are yearly held awards designed to encourage, support Content Management System. It was first started in 2006 by Packt Company, independent company focused on promoting Open Sources.

WordPress wins this award for the first time since 4 years. Until 2009, WordPress has never finished in final top slots. These awards are choosen by the panel of judges from Packt and visitors to the Website.

Matt Mullenweg from wordpress says “This is surely a milestone for us, we would be growing more after this award.”

It is not easy to come first in the Overall ranking because Joomla was always finished many time in top spot

WordPress would still be a winner now. It has just got better and has been on the top always. The customizable options, availability of thousands of themes, plugins etc.
