NTT Docomo unveils world’s first separable phone

Yeah…The world’s first separable phone with two functional unit was unveiled by NTT Docomo during Mobile World Congress 2010.

This phone takes the multi function capability of phone to the level of operating system. You can use one portion of your phone as a controller for games and other half portion for making calls. The separable phone use Bluetooth for connectivity between the two units.

The fours basic functions of the mobiles are

Camera Remote Control:

Use the keypad as a remote control to operate the touchscreen’s camera for perfectly timed self-taken photos.

Projector Remote Control:

Attach projector to touchscreen to enjoy digital TV, photos and videos while operating the projector with the keypad.

Multitasking Operations:

Take notes and schedules on the touchscreen while making phone calls with the keypad.

Games:

Use the keypad as a game controller for two-handed operations including motion based intrusive gaming.

The above handset was unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2010 which was held Barcelona and its expected to go on sale in Japan at a price of 500 Euros. There is no news about this phone launching in India.

The price is quite high at 500 euros, but one can’t complain when it provides various multimedia features. Is it really launched in the market though?
