As an Airtel Subscriber I was yesterday looking to activate Airtel GPRS on new handset Samsung C6625 and so followed their known procedure of SMS to 121 with MASALA ACTIVE in the message content but I was surprised to see the changes in the procedure of activating the GPRS on Prepaid Mobile.
Here is the new procedure of Activating GPRS on Prepaid Airtel Mobile.
1. You need to Dial *567#.
2. Just like how you check your balance you will be provided with a Reply Message to Select 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 option.

- Internet 98 per month

To Activate Reply with 1 and send it to the Customer Care.
3. Then you will receive the settings within one hour of time, save the setting and you are connect with Airtel GPRS. This procedure doesn’t charge you anything but the general 30 paise for 50kb applies for browsing and downloading.
Airtel GPRS vs Airtel Live vs Airtel Fun
Airtel Live is pre-activated in all of their customer mobile and you needn’t activate separately whereas Airtel GPRS you need to activate it. Airtel Fun is service from Airtel like Airtel Live. If you want to use Airtel RC 98 or Airtel RC 24 dedicated for Internet Browsing then you need to certainly activate Airtel Live and so change the Access Point.
