How to Check Passport Status Online

Here comes a good news for those who have applied for the Passport recently or applied for the renewal of their passport to the regional passport office, you can check the status of your Passport by number of ways and one of the easiest way is to check it online.

Indian Passport Status

If you have applied for a new passport you should be receiving it within 2 months since the date of application and if you have applied through Tatkal Scheme then you will be receive it within two weeks but later after 9/11 World Trade Centre attack the Passport procedure has tighten up and could even take longer time for your passport to be arrived. So dont be panic, sit back and check your passport status online.

Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai or Ahemdabad, etc., what ever be the city you live in thats not a issue, you can check the passport status online of any applicant all over India.

Check Passport Application Online

Those who have applied as new applicant can check passport status at http://passport.gov.in/ and go to Status Page.

Once you have select a city in the Status Page you will be redirected to Passport Status Page of the respected city.

Now Provide the Referance File Number which is your Application Number and mention the year in which you have applied. The passport details then are displayed as follows.

This data is fed by Ministry of External Affairs managed by Government of India and date is not the perfect one but near accurate.

I am Sandeep ramagya singh. I have applied for passport on 18th mar, 2011. My file no is, THN Z352563 2011.
My Police Verification is completed 1th APRIL, 2010 at Nashik but still I don’t know Status of my Application. The website has not updated my record yet..

Please, kindly take some action regarding this.
