Google recently launched an effective image explorer under Google Labs. Basically this is more of a experiment from Google to improve the image search results better than they actually have. The online world has become more visual than going into textual or hyper linked format so there is always need for the technology to be transformed in visual.

The new Google Image Swirl tries to organize images accordingly by classified categories. For example if you search for apple in Google Image Swirl Search, then it will display out the random results matching with the keywords i.e., for search keyword apple it will display out images apple fruit and apple iPhone , those two being the major keywords for the world apple.

Now here comes the main use of Google Image Swirl algorithm, on the selection of apple iPhone it will divided the image into a group of images related to apple iPhone, giving you out the broader prospective at second search result. For example for search keyword “apple” if I click on apple iPhone logo thumbnail then it will take me to a cluster of photo related only to apple iPhone logo.

Now, as seen in the image above if I click on apple logo, it will zoom out to a little level and will display out the actual size and the location of image on the web, so I was looking for 300 x 344 size logo of apple company and I got it here. If I click on that it will take me to another cluster containing images from the particular website (itechnews.net)-see image below.

Here is the Youtube video that you can check out relating to Google Image Swirl.

A worth experimenting feature, firstly because it is from Google and secondly because Google search has not always been a place where one would be liking the results. So Swirl is something different one would want to try.
